Route options

There are three different route options available to choose from. Either take on the challenge to complete the whole 18 day event, or if you would prefer you can sign up to cycle one section of the route, either from London to Biarritz on the French leg (6 days) or join the second stage and cycle through Spain from Biarritz to Gibraltar (12 days).

The full challenge sets off from the infamous Big Ben clock in the heart of London and through the streets of London before heading into the English countryside to Portsmouth to catch the overnight ferry to France.

The ride then continues in western France passing through the beautiful Normandy and Loire regions via Le Mans and Cognac. Heading towards the coast, the ride reaches Biarritz where everyone will enjoy the first rest day.

From here the route follows the coastline and leaves France behind, crossing the border into rural Spain where the terrain is hillier and the cycling is more challenging. The journey continues in the direction of Madrid and then south through the Castilla-La Mancha region with its stunning rolling landscape.

The goal from here is to reach the historic town of Cordoba where everyone will be able to enjoy a well deserved second rest day. The final phase of the challenge passes through beautiful Andalusia before finally reaching the finish line at the Rock of Gibraltar – the crown property of the UK and a fitting end to what promises to be an extraordinary journey.

This exciting and memorable bike ride will be a once in a lifetime experience so why not join us and in doing so give hope to millions of people whose lives are affected by heart and circulatory disease. All funds raised from the event will go towards our Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
