The most amazing thing I have ever done. Challenging in lots of ways but extremely rewarding. I can’t remember when I have ever laughed so much.
You will get to experience thrilling water crossings, incredible
lava fields and going to bed in daylight (there are 20 hours of
sunlight each day in Iceland at this time of year!), as well as
geothermal swimming in the famous hot springs.
The trek begins at Landmannahellir close to Mount Hekla volcano
and finishes in the the very green Langidalur.

Icelands breath-taking scenery and help rasie vital funds for our
pioneering research into the causes and treatment of heart
disease.

What's included?
In addition to providing a substantial
donation to our work, your sponsor money will cover:
- all flights, foreign overland transport and luggage transfers
(starting from and ending at the relevant London airport)
- overnight accommodation
- all meals except lunch on Day 1 and lunch and dinner on Day
6
- entrance fees to any sites visited on trekking days
- BHF rep, tour leader, tour doctor, guides, technical, medical
and transport back-up services.
What's not included?
- gratuities – the local guides and staff all work extremely hard
to ensure a successful trip, so we recommend demonstrating your
appreciation through a group tip
- personal expenses, such as soft and alcoholic drinks, gifts and
international calls
- airport taxes, passenger service charge and green tax (approx.
£125 subject to change)
- optional tours (where applicable)
- a BHF approved insurance policy – you must
have this to be allowed to travel (approx. £22 subject to
change)
