Now in its fourth year, our Manchester to Blackpool Night Ride brings a unique cycling challenge to the North West. With the city as our starting point, we’ll power through 52 miles of sleepy country lanes and be greeted by the dazzling lights of the Blackpool illuminations.

Registration is now open, so make sure you’re on the start line.

Register now

Registration is £30 per person and you have to be 18 years or over on Saturday 27 September 2014 to participate.

Watch our video to shed some light on what you can expect of our night ride.

Team work makes the dream work. With strength in numbers, we’ll get closer to finding a cure for heart disease. Invite your friends, family and colleagues to join you and add to your pedal power.

Each team member will need to register individually online. There are two questions which you’ll need to respond to in order to join a team. One will ask for the Team Name and the other will ask for the Team Leader’s Name. And it’s as simple as that.

Be a life-saver

Your registration fee helps to cover the cost of the event, but it’s your fundraising that will transform the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions.

For over 50 years our pioneering research has led to the discoveries of vital treatments that are changing the fight against heart disease. But with coronary heart disease still being the UK’s single biggest killer, this fight never sleeps. Join our fight and help us raise over £150,000 to power our life-saving research and end the suffering caused by heart disease.

Need a ride?

Our no-fuss truck and bus travel service will take you and your bike from Blackpool to Manchester either before the Night Ride or after you have finished. Tickets cost £25 per person. To book onto this service, simply add either the Saturday evening (pre-ride) or Sunday morning (post-ride) service when registering online.

What to expect

We’re experts at organising bike rides. Our highly experienced team will support you before, during and after the ride.

For expert tips, training schedules and advice, visit the training zone. Remember to build up your training gradually so you feel ready and confident on the night.

Our night time adventure will begin at 11:30pm on Saturday 27 September 2014 from Manchester's Trafford Centre and finish under the glow of Blackpool Promenade. Riders will be able to set off from midnight and the finish site will close at 8am on the Sunday.

The ride is 52 miles on road with 600 metres of climbing. The route will be clearly signposted and marshalled all the way. We’ll have three rest stops where you can recharge, have a break and grab some fuel. You can also expect free water, first aid and mechanical support through the night.

You will be given emergency numbers on the day in case you need first aid or mechanical support. Every rider will be emailed a link to view the route map on Google as well as a link to download the GPX file a week before the ride. You will also be given an OS map of the route on the night, which includes all the basic details you need to follow the routes including rest stop locations and timings.
