Dodgeball - For Teachers
What is Ultimate Dodgeball?
Ultimate Dodgeball is our exciting new fundraising
programme for schools which encourages pupils to get
active and have fun at the same time.
If your pupils can catch,
throw and dodge they can play
Ultimate Dodgeball! We have introduced a creative
element too, by encouraging the pupils to create their own
team identity with dress, face painting or even
their own temporary tribal tattoos. Involve young people from one
class, a year group or even the entire school.
Run an Ultimate Dodgeball Tournament as
a sponsored event - the final activity of a
progressive series of lessons that will promote safe activity
in a fun, enjoyable environment.
The total sponsorship money raised is split:
- 20% is retained by the school to spend however
they wish,
- 80% is used by the us to fund pioneering research into the
causes and treatment of heart disease, patient care and
support.
How to get your school involved
Everyone's a winner with Ultimate
Dodgeball:
- You receive a free comprehensive Ultimate Dodgeball
kit, containing three balls, an Organisers Guide,
Teacher’s Manual, posters and sponsorship forms.
- Ultimate Dodgeball fits in with the UK
Curriculums and helps schools fulfill criteria relating to
the physical activity strand of the Government’s National
Healthy School Programme.
- Ultimate Dodgeball has tremendous potential both within the
school curriculum and as an out-of-school hours learning activity
to help schools in England achieve the 5 Hour Offer as part of the
PE & Sport Strategy for Young People.
What happens next?
After you sponsorship money has been returned, you will receive
certificates (one for the school and one each for
the pupils) to say that you have taken part. Children who have
raise over £50 will receive a foam
ball suitable for playing Dodgeball!
The children's individual totals will not be recorded, they
are instead pooled into a single school total.
