Heart research takes centre stage at the Science Museum
This month
you get the chance to investigate the inner workings of the
heart at the Science Museum Lates event on Wednesday 27
February.
Part of the ever popular Lates with
Mastercard series, this heartwarming event will be called
Mending Broken Hearts, and will let visitors
explore the science behind the fight against heart disease.
Come along to the event and you will get
to hear about the science that could help the
heart repair itself, see the incredible
history of cardiology and heart surgery, and you could even get to
learn vital emergency life-saving
skills.
Where and when?
This free event will be at the Science Museum
in London on Wednesday 27 February from
6.45pm to 10pm. It's adults only,
so it's also a great chance to get a look in on some of the
Museum’s fun interactive exhibits!
BHF Professor of Regenerative Medicine
Paul Riley will be talking about his amazing work to mend
broken hearts, and BHF Professor of Cardiac
Surgery Gianni Angelini will be in a mock-up operating theatre
answering your questions about heart surgery. Finally, we’ll be
learning how animals can teach us how to repair hearts damaged by
heart attacks.
How do I get a ticket?
There’s no need to buy a ticket or even reserve
a space, just come along to the Science Museum for a heart-warming
evening! Get there early to avoid the queues.
You can also follow the event on Twitter via #smlates.
