Jubilee celebration raises money for the UK’s hearts
Crowns, corgis and queens have been the order of the day in
98 Lloydspharmacy stores and it’s all in the name of
hearts!
Stores up and down the country dressed in red white and blue,
challenged bosses to dress as the queen and played pin the tail on
the corgi to bring in the pounds to help us in the fight
against heart disease.
Lloydspharmacy has supported
our Mending Broken Hearts Appeal since September 2010 with
Halloween themed parties, being part of National Wear Red Day and
fundraising events in store for both staff and customers. The
partnership has so far raised over £175,000 with
jubilee fundraising increasing the total.
Amit Aggarwal, our head of corporate partnerships, said:
“We want to say a huge thank you to the pharmacies for
their fundraising efforts. The money raised by
Lloydspharmacy will help us to mend broken hearts through our
MBH Appeal.
The goal for the appeal is simple – to fund the research
that could literally begin to ‘mend broken hearts’ in as little as
10 years’ time and give hope to millions worldwide.”
