Gary Go song 'The Heart Balloon' helps the BHF

Gary Go

Singer-songwriter Gary Go released a new song 'The Heart Balloon' to help raise funds for our fight against heart disease.

Gary made the track available to download for FREE on a pay-whatever-you-want basis, with 100% of all voluntary donations going directly to support our vital lifesaving work.

Anyone who donated towards the download went into a special prize draw to win fantastic exclusive Gary Go goodies.

Gary has been supporting music royalty Take That and Lady Gaga on tour this summer, and has been referred to by Q magazine as a "One Man Coldplay".

'The Heart Balloon' is no longer available to download.

The story behind 'The Heart Balloon'

Heart Balloon

Gary got the idea for the song when he saw a heart-shaped balloon (pictured right) tangled in a tree outside his house.

Being a self confessed hopeless romantic, he put a picture of it on his Twitter feed and kept fans updated with its progress.

After suggesting he write a song about it, Gary asked his Twitter followers to tweet song lyric ideas to him about the balloon - and the rest is history.

The release of 'The Heart Balloon' coincides with Gary's appearance at V Festival this weekend (22-23 August), where he will perform the song alongside previous singles 'Wonderful', 'Open Arms' and 'Engines'.

Peter Hollins, Chief Executive of the BHF, said: "We're really grateful to Gary, both for the donations which will be coming to us, and for raising the awareness of heart disease being the biggest cause of deaths in the UK, very many of which could be avoided."
