What happens to your heart

When you breathe in, oxygen goes into your lungs.
Your blood picks up the oxygen from your lungs and
takes it to the heart.
Then your heart pumps your
blood so that it moves all around your body.
When your blood has dropped off your oxygen
where it’s needed in your body, it goes back to your heart.
Your heart pumps your blood to your lungs to
pick up more oxygen all over again.
Find your pulse...

If you put your first two fingers on the inside of your wrist, on
the side where your thumb is you can feel your pulse.
When you are being active your pulse is
faster. That’s because the blood is being pumped faster around your
body to take oxygen to all the muscles you are using.
