The BHF's Think fit! initiative is aimed at employers interested in setting up workplace health schemes. It's designed to help people at work make small changes to their daily lives that can make a big difference to their health and wellbeing. The scheme kicked off in 2005 and, with over 4,000 Think fit! packs ordered, thousands of workers geared up to get fit.
In 2007, with feedback from employers and employees, and support from Legal & General, we worked on making the programme even more effective. We updated the dedicated website, giving workers an even wider range of tips on activity, healthy eating and how to cope with work-related problems like stress. It's a massive hit - in 2007/8 the site received nearly 700,000 visits.
And, in February 2008, we published three new Think fit! resource packs focusing on how to set up physical activity, healthy eating and wellbeing programmes. One happy manager told us: "The pack set off a rollercoaster of activity, full of practical ideas and helpful advice. Activities are still going on and everyone has a smile on their face. What more can you ask for?" Pozz Lonsdale, Sports Centre Manager.
