The BHF Heart HelpLine

Living with heart disease can be frightening and hard, and it's common for patients, carers and families to feel isolated and confused. It's vitally important to provide heart patients with trustworthy information and support to help them understand and manage their condition. The BHF Heart HelpLine exists to fulfil that need.

No other UK service provides unbiased information on every type of heart disease and treatment. The Heart HelpLine is staffed by specialists - Cardiac Nurses, Information Officers, and since June 2007, a bereavement counsellor. Patients and carers can contact us by phone, email, or letter, and demand for the service continues to grow. In 2007, we received around 1,000 calls and 600 emails a month. Although the vast majority of our callers are heart patients and their families, the HelpLine also responds to queries from the general public and health professionals.

If you need information or support regarding a heart condition or treatment, please contact us. You can call 08450 708070 from 9am-5pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and 8am-6pm Wednesday and Thursday. You can also email us on hearthelponline@bhf.org.uk And there's a wealth of heart-related information on our website at bhf.org.uk
