Jump Rope For Heart

Skipping is great for kids. It improves their coordination and gets their hearts pumping. And when they Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) with the BHF, they're not only helping their own hearts - they're helping to save lives too.

JRFH is a BHF sponsored skipping scheme, which fits all Key Stages of the National Curriculum for PE, and raises money for our life-saving work. Schools receive a free kit with everything they need to get the kids skipping, and to get the fundraising up and running we include skipping ropes, posters and sponsor forms.

Once the children have mastered their skipping skills, the schools hold a sponsored Jump Off fundraising event, with the school receiving 25% of the proceeds. The kids love it and all ages and abilities can join in. JRFH's so popular that if you laid this year's skipping ropes end to end, they'd stretch from London to Cardiff!

In 2007/8 school year, 2,095 schools signed up and raised over £813,000. In 2008/9 we're aiming even higher, with a target of 300,000 skippers who'll hopefully raise £868,000.
