A few Christmases ago we came up with a scheme that had our loyal supporters queuing up to get involved in festive funding. And in 2007, with Yuletide fast approaching, fundraisers old and new turned out in droves for hearts first Santa Jogs across the UK.
In December, 800 jolly souls in Cardiff donned free Santa suits and braved the elements to raise £23,000, and in Swansea's first ever Santa Jog, a further 500 raised a hearty £13,000.
Volunteer marshal Jennifer Pickin enthused: "It was an experience I'll never forget. The spectacle of 800 Santas - men, women, children and even dogs - all taking part to raise money for such a vital cause was fantastic. We've all put our names forward to volunteer again next year. A huge thank you to the BHF for asking us!"
Santa Jogs raised £110,000 to help us keep saving lives. And they're a great way to get in shape in the run up to the season of good cheer, turkey and pud. See you next Christmas?
