A BHF Gift of Hope Heart Fund is a very special way to remember, and celebrate, the life of a loved one and bring hope for generations to come.

Each Fund is a permanent and growing tribute in their name. It has no end date and can be added to any time. Donations can be made to mark birthdays and special occasions and the Fund's online page can be personalised with stories and pictures. Fund-holders can also choose to support a particular area of our work.

Alan and Anne lived busy lives, walking at weekends, and getting involved in local societies. Alan developed prostate cancer in 2003, but was pronounced clear after radiotherapy, and in gratitude for his care, the couple raised nearly £17,500 for a local cancer charity. But in 2006, Alan collapsed suddenly and died soon after. The heart attack came like a bolt from the blue - he'd seemed in good health with no suggestion of a heart problem.

After her husband's tragic death, Anne began fundraising for the BHF and started an online Gift of Hope Heart Fund in his honour.
