BHF Events

Every year, tens of thousands of our loyal supporters take part in BHF Events to raise funds for our vital cause. Their energy and commitment is crucial to what we do, and in 2007, they really excelled.

In June, 27,000 men and women geared up for the London to Brighton Bike Ride, beating their 2006 total by raising almost £4 million.

Nearly 1,200 Heart Runners joined the BUPA Great North Run, raising £340,000, while a further 200 crossed the starting line on the BUPA Great Manchester Run and brought home £40,000. And 600 Heart Runners made capital gains in 2007's Flora London Marathon, not only raising £860,000 but, with national media coverage, giving our Runners a chance to smile for the camera and raise our public profile.

Further afield, our World Experiences took 226 venturesome trekkers to distant parts, including Everest Base Camp, the Sinai Desert, and a bike ride along the River Nile. And the BHF World Experiences partnership with Weight Watchers took 32 hearty souls on treks to Spain and Italy. All in all, our resolute trekkers raised £715,000.

Our supporters are crucial in the fight against heart disease, but we need your help too. To find out more about our Events, please go to bhf.org.uk/getinvolved
