Reaching more communities

“My name is Hasan Mahmood Kazmi and I’m 70 years old. In 1999 I had a heart attack and since then I’ve been on medication. Thanks to the BHF, my family and I know a lot more about heart disease and what I can do to keep my heart healthy.

They have done so much to help the South Asian community, giving seminars and running programmes in the mosque to tell us about eating the right food, and cutting down on salt and fat. Their anti-smoking campaigns are important – no-one in my family smokes and we made sure people did not smoke around my daughter-in-law when she was pregnant.

I take my friends to the mosque to learn more and they tell their friends and families, and we send the information to Pakistan and other countries as well, so the BHF is helping people all over the world. We need more people to help the BHF raise funds and keep sending out the message that we can all help ourselves and live longer, healthier lives.”
