Ken
Blair - Chief Executive, BHF Shops
Ken Blair, Chief Executive of BHF Shops, joined the
British Heart Foundation in September 1996.
Prior to this he worked for footwear retailer BSC for 14 years,
rising to Operations Controller of three different groups. He also
spent five years developing family business and was Operations
Director for High Street retailer Facia.
Ken's role at the BHF involves the development and day-to-day
running of the successful Shops chain. The shops opening programme
began some 15 years ago and has expanded at a rate of almost 40 new
openings per year since. The chain is seen as an industry leader,
often quoted as the top performing large charity shops
operation.
He attends Council, sits on the Executive Committee as an
ex-officio member and sits on the BHF Shops Committee.
Ken was educated in Scotland, and after leaving school trained
to become a commercial artist. He studied at the College of
Commerce in Glasgow and obtained an equivalent HND in Marketing and
Commerce.
His interests include sailing, rugby and travel.
