Betty McBride
Policy and Communications Director
Betty
McBride joined the British Heart Foundation in 2000.
Prior to this she was Head of Press at Help the Aged, Head of
Media at Voluntary Services Overseas, a documentary maker at the
BBC, and a journalist on regional newspapers.
Her role involves leading teams responsible for
promoting our work and moving forward policy objectives in
line with the aims of the Charity.
She is also responsible for our brand, and for
communications activity that raises awareness of heart health
issues.
Betty attends the Council, sits on the Executive Committee as an
ex-officio member, and sits on the following Committees; Shops,
Ventures, Prevention and Care and Emergency Life Support and
Defibrillators.
Outside her role she sits on the Council of the Association of Medical Research
Charities (AMRC) and Action on Smoking and Health
(ASH).
