About the appeal

The Valentine Appeal aims to raise £1 million to fund our vital care work.

We urgently need your help to fund our BHF Heart Nurses and the Heart HelpLine. Both play such a crucial role to the recovery of heart patients across the UK.

In the UK there are 2.6 million men and women living with coronary heart disease and for some it can be frightening and debilitating.

Last year BHF Heart Nurses were able to help 50,000 of these heart patients and the charity's Heart HelpLine provided support and information to 13,000 callers.

BHF Heart Nurses provide medical, emotional and practical help for sufferers both in hospital and in the home and greatly reduce their chances of being readmitted to hospital.

The nurses and information officers who staff our Heart HelpLine give emotional support and practical information to sufferers, carers, health professionals and anyone with concerns about heart health.

It's often the case that heart patients don't receive the support that they need. That's why we aim to make sure that care is provided whenever and wherever it is needed.
