Getting started

Man doing the Alexander Technique

You'll need support from key people in your organisation.

Before deciding on what you will do and offer, you'll benefit from getting together to discuss your colleagues' needs and the environment and facilities at work.

Who do you need?

A mental wellbeing co-ordinator, the management, and a support group made up of representatives from across the organisation -  they all play a vital role.

What do you need to do?

The initiatives you offer to colleagues should be based on their interests and needs, and the work environment and its surroundings.

You will need to plan ahead and let people know what's available.

“Our stress management group write a newsletter which is distributed widely and encourages more people to join. It’s about encouraging people to get involved at all levels and sustain this. We want people to find long term solutions to help them in their workplace and have the support to sustain this.”

Lesley Pallett, Cornwall & IOS NHS
