Walking
Walking is good for the body and mind. You can walk at any time
and anywhere, and it's free and easy to do.
You can choose your own pace by starting slowly and building up
gently, increasing the distance and speed as you get fitter.
Encourage colleagues to get into the habit of walking before,
during and after work. This is a free and easy way of building
physical activity into their daily routine.
It will also help them to achieve the recommended 150
minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a
week. Try to be active every day and remember that
every 10 minutes counts.
"A small walking group take
regular power walks during their lunchtime and we are hearing (and
seeing) the effects of weight loss success stories from individuals
who are now trying to lead healthier lifestyles."
