Cycling
Promoting cycling at work brings many benefits to both
employees and employers.
Cycling helps you to feel healthier and fitter, and can save you
money in fares and fuel. With the amount of traffic on the roads,
it is often quicker to cycle to work than to drive or use public
road transport.
Cycling in the fresh air can be a great stress reliever. If you
cycle to work you often arrive feeling more alert and are better
able to leave your work behind at the end of the day.
To promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce
environmental pollution the Government have introduced the
'Cycle to Work Scheme' which allows employers to
loan cycles and cyclists’ safety equipment to employees as a
tax-free benefit. Vist the Cyclescheme website to find out
more.
For meetings during the working day, using a bike is often
quicker and easier than driving and having to find a car parking
space at the other end.
