  • Theme days – create your own, or focus on a local or national theme such as Cancer Research Fruity Friday
  • A healthy eating fair to introduce employees to new initiatives – invite local food outlets and shops to attend - for example, a farm shop, health food shop or supermarket.
The bigger supermarket stores often have employees who are responsible for promoting healthy eating in the community.
  • Participation in local or national events such as a charity or team event.
Try a healthy eating event or a charity challenge that promotes healthy living.
Or find your own event by visiting a list of registered charities
  • Nutrition or cookery courses - why not ask colleagues to volunteer to attend? Once qualified, they can run healthy eating sessions at work.
  • Establish a workplace allotment scheme - it can be very satisfying to grow your own produce! If you have space within your workplace grounds, speak to your management team about allocating an area for an allotment.
Alternatively, contact your local authority to find out where the closest allotment area is. You will need a champion to take overall responsibility for the allotment.
