Priorities
The priority of the BSH is to increase heart failure awareness among healthcare professionals. This will be achieved by promoting education to disseminate evidence-based medicine for heart failure. The Society supports heart failure research through education and offers educational meetings to trainee heart failure specialist doctors.
The society hosts an annual two day meeting every autumn open to healthcare professionals. Speakers, many of whom are specialists in their field, are invited from centres in the UK and Europe to present the findings of the latest research and to showcase best practice. The BSH actively promotes the National Heart Failure Audit. Results from the audit can be accessed via the BSH website.
he Society campaigned for an accredited course for Heart Failure Specialist Nurses. 'Principles of Care Management for the Patient with Chronic Heart Failure' is provided at Glasgow Caledonian University and franchised to University of West of England , Bristol .
